Cotswold Glamping Cabins
Our Story
I brought our 8 acres of land in 2017 for my horses, all that stood here before was a half fallen down brick building called “the bothy”. We’ve worked incredibly hard over the years to make it more than just a field. I’ve planted over a hundred trees and spent hours putting in hedging to encourage the wildlife. The little wooded area and brook were completely overgrown and derelict, it’s a fine line clearing spaces like these without disrupting the little ecosystems that surround them! Now we have a peaceful space with a beautiful view to take in the nature that thrives there. Our development of the field is ongoing as we evolve the business. We spend hours planting bulbs for the bees, creating new environments and just generally enjoying what we’ve built here!
I’m Bob, I’ve lived in this part of the world my whole life, it’s just absolutely stunning, everyday. I’ve always been a big lover of nature, the outdoors & animals. We all need to do our bit do preserve our green earth. It isn’t just me you’ll meet here, we’ve got a range of animals who may pop up to say hello! There’s horses, sheep, chickens, two friendly dogs and of course our two lovely donkeys - Pedro & Coco. These guys potter about each day and each bring their own extra little bit of character to our amazing space at Cotswold Cabin Fever.
We had a crazy idea to diversify the land and decided to try with the planners for holiday lets. We were incredibly excited when we heard that our little dream WAS in fact possible! In 2019 we were able to start plans for our two first accommodation projects Bluebell & Sweet Pea. We wanted to offer something different to the “norm”, something quirky, with its own uniqueness that sets us apart from other places to stay. What about giving new life to something that’s already built? Converting some kind of commercial product into a cozy home?
A whopping 90% of consumer goods are transported across the globe in shipping containers. Any damaged vessels are usually crushed and discarded as waste. We decided to recycle them instead, with the green initiative we set about putting our plans into action. The variety of options in size, colour and orientation was staggering to begin with but put a pen to paper, all the ideas come flooding out! We decided to make each cabin with a different design and characteristic to the next. The outside space being a major factor in our planning. It’s so often you find holiday destinations with the accommodation packed in like sardines! We didn’t want that for Cotswold Cabin Fever, each of our cabins come with its own private garden area and an open view of the surroundings. For a peaceful getaway, the right way! In the early months of 2022 we were granted permission to add in a few more accommodation units to the site, so, watch this space for more!
